(“Altera Medical”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

We provide private medical services within the United Kingdom.

Our services are independent of the NHS unless explicitly stated otherwise.

 

2. Regulatory Status

Our clinicians are registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and practise in accordance with UK professional and ethical standards.

We are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Registration number: ______.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) for data protection purposes. Registration number: 00011332824.

 

3. Scope of Services

We provide:

  • GP Home Visits
  • Online GP Consultations

We provide urgent medical care but do not provide emergency medical services.

 

4. Not an Emergency Service

Altera Medical is not an emergency provider.

If you experience symptoms such as:

  • Chest pain
  • Severe breathing difficulty
  • Stroke symptoms
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Severe bleeding

You must call 999 or attend A&E immediately.

We reserve the right to terminate a consultation and direct you to emergency care where clinically necessary.

 

5. Eligibility

You must:

  • Be physically located in the United Kingdom during consultation
  • Be aged 18 or over

Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. We may require identity verification for safeguarding and prescribing purposes.

 

6. Online Consultation Limitations

By booking a remote consultation, you acknowledge:

  • No physical examination is conducted
  • Diagnosis may be limited
  • Clinical decisions rely on the accuracy of information you provide

We may require in-person review or referral where clinically appropriate.

 

7. Clinical Autonomy & Prescribing

All clinical decisions are made solely at the discretion of the attending clinician.

We do not guarantee:

  • Prescriptions
  • Controlled drugs
  • Referrals
  • Fit notes

Controlled drugs will not ordinarily be prescribed via remote consultation.

 

8. Appointments, Fees & Cancellations

All services are private and chargeable.

Fees are displayed at booking and payable in advance unless otherwise agreed.

Failure to attend may result in full fee retention.

Cancellation terms displayed at booking form part of this agreement.

 

9. Third-Party Booking & Payment Providers

We may use independent third-party providers for booking and payment processing.

These providers act independently.

We accept no responsibility for:

  • System failures
  • Payment processing errors
  • Data handling practices of third parties
  • Service interruptions beyond our control

Their terms and privacy policies apply separately.

 

10. Confidentiality & Records

We maintain confidential medical records in accordance with UK medico-legal standards.

Information may be disclosed where required:

  • By law
  • For safeguarding purposes
  • To prevent serious harm

11. Limitation of Liability

Nothing excludes liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence
  • Fraud
  • Liability which cannot legally be excluded

Subject to this, our liability shall not exceed the fee paid for the relevant consultation.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

 

12. Complaints Procedure

Complaints should be submitted to:

We aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 working days and provide a full response within 20 working days.
